Compassionate, whole-body care — for infants, children, and adults

At Oral Function Specialties, we offer gentle, root-cause therapies that support oral function, nervous system regulation, and developmental growth across the lifespan. Whether you’re navigating feeding issues in infancy or breathing and sleep challenges as an adult, we’re here to help.

👅 Myofunctional Therapy

When muscles work well, everything else does too.

“I thought my child outgrew mouth breathing, but it’s back. Now we’re dealing with sleep problems and teeth crowding too.”

Myofunctional therapy trains the muscles of the mouth, face, and airway to work together for breathing, eating, speaking, and sleeping. It’s especially important in growing children—but also helpful for adults managing sleep or jaw issues.

 We support:

  • Mouth breathing and nasal blockage
  • Low tongue posture
  • Sleep-disordered breathing and snoring
  • Orthodontic relapse or tongue thrust
  • Trouble chewing/swallowing

Our approach includes:

  • Gentle, personalized muscle retraining
  • Breath support and posture awareness
  • Collaboration with orthodontists, ENTs, and sleep specialists

This therapy builds habits that support the airway, oral development, and whole-body wellness.

🍼  Lactation Support (IBCLC)

Feeding care that looks beyond the latch.

“I’m struggling to breastfeed, and I don’t know why. I just want feeding to feel better—for both of us.”

How we help:
Many families are told to “just keep trying,” but when feeding isn’t working, there’s always a reason. As an IBCLC, I provide thoughtful, function-focused support to uncover that why—whether it’s oral restriction, body tension, or something else.

 We address:

  • Painful or shallow latch
  • Fussiness at the breast or bottle
  • Slow weight gain or long feeds
  • Suspected ties or inefficient suck
  • Reflux-like symptoms or gas

 You’ll receive:

  • A full oral function assessment
  • Support with breast, bottle, or combo feeding
  • A gentle, whole-body approach tailored to your baby’s needs

This care is for any family wanting a better feeding experience—from birth and beyond.

👐 Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT)

Gentle therapy. Deep release. Support for the whole body.

“My baby just seems tense all the time. Could there be something going on in their body I can’t see?”

CFT uses soft, sustained touch to release tension in the fascia—a tissue that connects everything in the body. It’s especially powerful for newborns and children who’ve experienced a tough birth, feeding challenges, or body asymmetries.

 We support:

  • Feeding difficulty or latching issues
  • Head-turning preference or flat spots
  • Tongue/lip tie bodywork before and after release
  • Restless sleep or frequent waking
  • Chronic tension in the head, neck, or jaw

Who it’s for:

  • Newborns and infants
  • Children with lingering tension or trauma
  • Teens and adults with chronic stress patterns

This therapy gently unwinds restriction and helps the body reset—physically, emotionally, and neurologically.

🧠 Retained Reflex Integration

Helping the body grow out of patterns it never finished.

“My child is bright but struggles with focus, coordination, and transitions. Could something developmental be lingering?”

Sometimes the body holds onto early reflexes that should’ve gone away in infancy. These reflexes can show up later as emotional dysregulation, clumsiness, or difficulty with fine motor skills.

We help with:

  • Trouble sitting still or paying attention
  • Sensory overload or poor self-regulation
  • Balance, coordination, or handwriting concerns
  • Toe walking, poor posture, or motor delays

How it works:

  • Gentle movement-based exercises
  • Nervous system support
  • Simple patterns to help the brain “re-learn” and release old reflexes

You may not have heard of retained reflexes—but if you’ve “tried everything” and something still feels off, this may be the missing piece.
